Before 1956 when the first bridge as built the only way to get to Hilton Head Island was by boat. Hilton Head had had a distinct development with guidelines to preserve the natural beauty. Hilton Head had a great history.

The former cotton plantations have been replaced with some of the countrys finest golf courses. I have been coming to Hilton Head for over 30 years. I have seen the Island develop and grow without losing its original uniqueness and charm.  It is as lovely as it was in the early cotton plantation days.

Hilton Head and Bluffton are known as "The Low Country" for being a laid back and relaxed pace community. Many choose the communities of Hilton Head and Bluffton for our great weather and beautiful beaches. You can always find some biking or walking on our white sandy beaches. There is nothing like a relaxing day at the beach.  We have so much to offer including good schools, wide range of shopping and dining. Bluffton Real Estate

Located below the Broad River, Bluffton is often called the mainland. It has been developing like a boom town, spreading out to Okatie. The first people to live there were called Blufftonians; they came for the fishing and oysters. Bluffton is a sleepy little "Low Country" oyster town.
 
There is Old Town Bluffton, home to many art and craft shops. Quaint and close to the water, Bluffton has southern style homes. Calhoun St. hosts a variety of festivals. The Bluffton Old Town Art festival is not to be missed. The new developments have spanned out to gated plantations and planned communities. There are many golf courses, water views and horse stables in these communities. There is such a variety of lifestyles, something for everyone. Sun City is an expansive community for age 55 and older.

As the community grows, so does the infrastructure. The New Bluffton Parkway lined with Palm Trees continues to expand. It will connect Hilton Head and Bluffton all the way to SC 170. Savannah is only 40 minutes from Bluffton and Charleston is 60 minutes away. The prestigious Palmetto Bluff is a unique entity. The Chapel view of the May River is spectacular. Bluffton lake community Hampton lake was awarded America's "Best Community  2008.
